Day 54 – Taking a (meds) break

People seem split as to whether occasional breaks are good for you or not. The more trustworthy sources seem skewed towards ‘no’, if I’m honest, but I thought I’d give it a try anyway. The dry mouth and jaw tension in this heat have just been awful and I need a day without them.

I hope Dr E isn’t cross about me trying this. I’m not convinced it’s the best idea, but she was making noises about moving me to the GP after the next appointment and I don’t want to get stuck with a less-than-ideal prescription.

“When can I get hold of her?”

“Next Monday I suppose- actually, no, wait, she’ll be on annual leave. Sorry.”

“Right… is there another doctor I could speak to?”

I don’t feel very OK this evening. I am a little fragile from future thoughts, and then I watch Nanette, Hannah Gadsby’s Netflix stand-up show.

Day 60 – Friends and flappers

I’m actually quite flattered to have been invited to this party, because I don’t know the bride-to-be terribly well. I have always had problems making new friends in my age group, so I’m really pleased that she seems to like me. She looks like she’s having a blast, which is the important thing!
